<남아있는 순간들 The Remains of the Time>

아카데미극장은 원주의 마지막 남은 단관 영화관이며, 2006년 3월 영업을 정지했다. 시민들은 아카데미극장의 철거를 막기 위해 아직도 싸우고 있다. 이 영화는 아카데미 극장에 대한 마지막 기록을 위해 제작되었다.

단관극장이 하나둘 폐관하던 시기, 유일하게 남은 오래된 단관극장의 마지막 날.

In the 1960s, cinemas began to line up on a street in Wonju—a small city in Korea. But as the multiplex era began, such smaller cinemas began to close up and were demolished. The Academy Theater is the last and only single screen cinema house in Wonju, although it has been fifteen years since it held its last screening. The citizens of Wonju are still raising their voices against the demolition of the once beloved cinema house. This film is dedicated to preserving the last records of the Academy Theater.

Single screen cinemas are being shut down one after another. And it’s the last day of the only cinema house left.
