<울지않는 사자 The lion doesn't cry>

지난 봄 경포 산불로 집을 잃게 된 지민이네 가족은 이모할머니가 사는 옥계로 이사를 간다. 엄마는 낯선 환경과 가족들 걱정에 잠을 잘 이루지 못하고, 아빠는 이모할머니 식당에서 요리를 배우기로 한다. 이제 갓 초등학교에 입학한 지민이의 복잡한 감정과 생각은 무의식 속에서 작은 이야기를 만들어낸다.

In the mountainous region of Gangwon-do on South Korea’s eastern coast, wildfires, both small and large, recur year after year. In the spring of 2023, a wildfire that broke out in Gyeongpo, Gangneung, reduced 551 homes to ashes in the span of a few hours. This film tells the story of a family who lost their home in that fire.

After the fire, the family of three moves to a village where their ‘Auntie’ lives. In this strange place, their days are tangled with worry, emotional scars, and an uncertain future. The mother struggles with insomnia, while the father tries to adapt, learning the ropes at Auntie’s diner. Their young son, who has just started elementary school, begins to make up a story in his mind—a little tale born of mixed emotions and lingering anxiety.
